WHERE ARE YOU? Home » What We Do » Site Development

We’ve worked hard over the years to develop a streamlined and efficient workflow for developing websites. Using this process we have been able to achieve turn around times of 2-3 weeks. Our site development process works like this:

  1. Initial project meeting.
  2. We want to learn what it is you do, and how we can help you accomplish your goals. We’ll discuss various options for web sites, our specialties and some over all realities of running websites. This is a jargon friendly meeting. It’s not our goal to impress you with our knowledge of acronyms, but rather to understand your vision for your website.

Initial technology proposal.
In this follow up Email, we try to explain what technologies we feel would best enable you to accomplish your vision. This email is going to contain a proposal for the technology behind your website. This can be a lengthy email, and will contain some jargon; but do not be afraid, we’re here to answer any questions you may have.
The Legal stuff.
This is where we commit to build your website, and you commit to helping us feed the cats by paying us.
Look and Feel Proposal.
This email will contain a series of images displaying a mock up proposal for what your site will look like including color schemes, logos and general page layout. If you’re not a fan of the proposal you can look through our theme gallery. The goal is to work as a team, much like a sketch artist and witness, to develop a look and feel that is uniquely suited to you and your needs.
Engineering.
This is where we do our magic. During the engineering phase we’re going to put the technology and the look and feel together.  When we’re done with this your site will be fully functional.
Testing.
Just as the name implies the testing phase allows both you and Brightleaf to test out the site, identify and fix bugs and tweak minor settings.
Teaching.
We create beautiful websites, but the task of keeping the information up to date, adding new content and uploading pictures and files is up to you. Do not fear! We specialize in using technology that allows even the most novice of computer users to easily add, remove and edit not only content but pictures and files as well. Any site developed by Brightleaf comes with access to our dedicated teaching screen casts –videos you can watch in your web browsers to learn how to upload images, write a new post or page, terminology etc.
Release:
You don’t have to host your site on our servers. If you choose not to host your site with us, we’ll gladly help you get your site up and running on your own servers. Please do be aware, however, that while Brightleaf sites use common and free software building blocks such as PHP and MySql, not all web hosts provide these tools.

Brightleaf Software exists to help churches and non-profits communicate with their congregations through interactive and engaging websites, site hosting, and custom development.
